A Michigan woman is hurt after she rear-ends a semi on Interstate 69, Thursday morning…all this, at the 340 mile marker, just south of the S.R. 4 interchange in DeKalb County. Officials tell reporters, 61-year-old Beatriz Halbert of Lansing had just merged onto the 69…when she ran into the southbound big rig…driven by 30-year-old John Merritt of Angola. Halbert tells officers…she did not see the semi. She has injuries to her head, chest and arm. She is then taken to a DeKalb County hospital. Her vehicle is totaled in the wreck. State and local officials continue looking into the accident.
