Dispatchers direct Defiance crews to a structure fire on Ohio 66 South that results in major property damage and a long battle to extinguish the blaze. Arriving at the scene, firefighters were meet by eyewitnesses who reported a loud explosion had been heard…followed by billowing smoke, both of which prompted the initial call to 911. By that time…the entire metal structure was fully engulfed in flames. Soon…the fire team calls for backup. Crews from Tiffin, Noble, South Richland, Delaware and a few others make their way to the scene…and join in the firefight. In all, it takes nearly three hours to get the blaze under control.
