Nearly a week after Edgerton lost power due to an apparent train accident, the village is back up running on full power along their normal transmission lines. First Energy Crews completed all the work and restored power around 7 p.m. Sunday. Although they had hoped to start earlier and cut the power around 8 a.m., Edgerton Village Administrator Dawn Fitzcharles said Sunday evening the power was ultimately cut at 11:50 a.m. Sunday. In order to do this wire work, Fitzcharles said the lines needed to be de-energized, which resulted in the power outage. Crews waited until “the last available moment” to cut the power, she added. Once that wire work was finished, they could energize the new switch, close the loop and restore the substation.
