Trial for Animal Shelter Owner

The owner of a local animal shelter is headed to trial on charges that she abused the animals entrusted to her care.

Vickie Cornell, owner of Skinny Little Buddy’s Animal Shelter of Edon is facing 20 counts of cruelty to animals after more than 50 animals were rescued from her rescue operation and turned over to the Williams County Humane Society back in August.

Officials say they found the animals at Skinny Little Buddy’s living in deplorable conditions.

Cornell’s attorney told the Bryan Times that it was a case of not being able to get the dogs adopted fast enough, along with the fact that Cornell lost two volunteers at the rescue, leaving her to care for all of the animals on her own.
