The Bryan Board of Public Affairs approves a nearly $20,000 dollar change order for an electric project…after they found out the wrong switches were ordered. The project is part of a plan to upgrade the city’s entire sub-transmission electric service system to 69 kilovolt capacity. Officials say…the company that makes the switches uses the same part number for horizontal and vertical ones. While the vertical switches are needed for the project, horizontal switches were quoted. The manufacturer is unable to sell the vertical switches for the quoted price…but with the project already coming in under budget, they went ahead and paid more for the correct switches.
