The Bryan Council agrees to a contract for prosecutorial services with a local law firm. The agreement is with Rupp, Hagans & Bohmer. Officials say…it allows the city to have the services on a full-time basis without having to pay benefits such as health insurance or sick or vacation time. The agreement runs from June 1 of this year to May 31, 2024. The ordinance for the agreement was passed under suspension of rules requiring three readings. Council voted unanimously to end the contract of Rhonda Fisher, Bryan city attorney and municipal prosecutor. Fisher had served as city attorney since 2001. The termination came after an hour-long closed, executive session at the end of the council meeting.
