Williams County Board of Elections ready for August Special Election

Ready For The Ballot

The Williams County Board of Elections is in a good position for the August special election, officials say. In May, the Ohio House approved a special election for Aug. 8 to address a single issue, which would make it harder to amend the Ohio constitution. This decision came months after Gov., DeWine signed House Bill 458, which eliminated most August special elections, in January of this year. Williams County election officials say the estimated cost of the election across the state is $20 million dollars, funded from the state budget. They add…preparation for the election is coming along well, especially as it’s a single-issue ballot. Currently, the ballot is being proofed and will come before the board for a vote at their meeting on Tuesday.
