Arraignment hearing for a Bryan church charged with zoning violations is postponed.

An arraignment hearing scheduled for a Bryan church that’s charged with zoning violations, is postponed until next week. Chris Avell, who runs Dad’s Place at 226 S. Main St., has been charged with 18 counts of zoning violations for allowing people to stay there overnight when the facility is not zoned for such activity. The arraignment is now scheduled for Jan. 11 at 10:30 a.m. in Bryan Municipal Court. On Tuesday, Avell appeared on Fox News with Jeremy Dys, who was identified as his attorney. Dys is listed as senior counsel for First Liberty, an organization known for defending religious freedom cases.
