Meeting should fill in details about the classroom expansion project at Stryker.

A meeting Thursday should fill in a lot of the details about the upcoming classroom expansion project, Stryker Schools Superintendent Nate Johnson told the board at its regular monthly meeting. The project includes expanding the classrooms housing the Ag Tech and Panther K-6 Tech programs, an expansion driven by the popularity of them. The Ag Tech program encourages students to develop skills for career success through agriculture education, whole the Panther Tech program offers hands-on learning in computer aided design, 3D printing and coding and robotics. Johnson said he’s meeting with the project architect this week. Once the board approves the prints and cost estimates, the project can go to bid. Johnson said the preliminary timetable has the project beginning in late May and taking about a year to complete. Board meetings will continue to be held on Mondays at 5:30.
