Stryker Village Council monthly meeting.

Stryker Village Council amends its income tax ordinance, welcome a new member and heard from a candidate running for Williams County Sheriff at its regular monthly meeting. The new council member, Stan Whitlock, takes over for outgoing councilperson Rachel Garcia. He was sworn in along with Sean Ingram for new terms, while councilperson Vickie Cameron was sworn in as 2024 council president. Mayor Joey Beck also was sworn in for a new term by village solicitor Kevin Whitlock. The village income tax code was amended to meet requirements consistent with changes within Ohio House Bill 33 as passed by the Legislature. Village Fiscal Officer Beth Rediger said the changes mostly affect businesses versus individual taxpayers. She said among other changes, it lowers the financial penalty for businesses filing late from $150 to $25; initiates a one-time grace period for businesses filing late; and enacts additional deductions available to business filers.
