Over the next two years, Tiffin City Schools predicted to lose $1.2 million a year.

Over the next two years, Tiffin City Schools is predicted to lose $1.2 million a year. This was brought up at the most recent school board meeting by Anne Spence, the district treasurer, who stated that two pieces of property tax legislation that take effect in March are to blame for the loss. Due to an emergency levy, House Bill 129 will remove the district from the 20-mill floor, which guarantees schools have a baseline of tax income. Increases in property taxes are limited by House Bill 186 to the rate of inflation.
