Three vehicle commercial crash causes long term lane closure.

The Swanton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash involving three commercial tractor/trailers. The crash occurred on March 15th at approximately 10:20 a.m., on Interstate 80/90 (Ohio Turnpike) Eastbound, Near milepost 78, in Harris Township, Ottawa County.
The preliminary investigation revealed that two commercial vehicles were stopped in traffic due to a prior crash on Eastbound IR80/90. A third commercial vehicle approaching the stopped traffic failed to stop and struck a commercial vehicle, causing that vehicle to strike another commercial vehicle.
The driver of the at approaching commercial vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The drivers of the two stopped commercial vehicles sustained minor injuries. Identities of the drivers are withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin.
As a result of the crash, Interstate 80/90 was restricted to a single lane for an
extended period of time while crews cleared the scene.
