The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife reports that on the first weekend of the spring shooting season, wild turkey hunters in Ohio’s south zone checked 4,646 birds. Saturday marked the start of the season. On the first weekend of 2025, hunters in the south zone caught 4,281 wild turkeys, with a three-year average of 4,239 from 2023 to 2025. The birds captured during the youth season are not included in the results.
