Sauder Village in Archbold is hosting a free Agricultural Lecture Series at the Heritage Inn.
The first lecture of the season is scheduled for 7:30 this evening, and is entitled “The Dawn of the Golden Age of Agriculture — Early 20th Century Farming in the Heartland.“
The program is free and open to the public. A second lecture will be held on October 6th.
Today’s program will be about the social, technological, political and economic changes of the 1920s and how these impacted farming.
On Oct. 6, the lecture will be “The Vacant Chair on the Farm: Understanding Marriage, Farm Management, and Soldiering in the Midwest during the American Civil War.” That too, is going to be free and open to the public.
