Enterovirus Comes to NW Ohio

A respiratory virus that’s hospitalized more than 500 children nationwide may be sickening kids in Northwest Ohio. 795 children were treated in local emergency rooms in the region between September 1st and September 9th, and 224 of those cases were respiratory illnesses. Enterovirus is an uncommon strain of a virus that’s similar to what causes the common cold, but can cause asthma-like wheezing in kids that usually don’t have that symptom.
