Post Office Fire Disrupts Liberty Center

Firefighters rushed out Thursday morning to a fire at the Liberty Center Post Office. The first call came in from a passerby just after 5am yesterday, when that person said they saw a glow in the front window of the building on East Street. The fire was found in the furnace area of the building, which is owned by the Masonic Lodge, and in addition to the post office, also houses the Liberty Press. Nobody was hurt, and so far, the exact cause is still under investigation. Until things get back to normal in Liberty Center, rural route mail that passes through that facility will be handled by the Colton Post Office.
