Charges of murder and felonious assault that had been leveled against an Edgerton man, accused of beating a 3-year-old Columbus girl to death, have been dropped. Police in Columbus however, are quick to point out that the investigation into the case against 24 year old Tyson Reliford is still moving forward, even though the two most serious charges were dropped Thursday in Franklin County Court. Prosecutors say the charges were dropped due to concerns about some additional things that needed follow up. Now, in addition to Reliford, the child’s motheris also being investigated as a possible suspect in the beating death in February of little Aiyanna Thompson. Reliford was being held in the Franklin County Corrections Center on one million dollars bond, but as of yesterday, he was no longer listed as an inmate there, according to the Bryan Times. Investigators say that new charges could be filed however.
