Motorcycle Safety Issued Targeted

The Governors Highway Safety Association says motorcycle fatallities fell slightly in 2014, for the second straight year. Report author Allan Williams says however, there is still much work to be done to help keep motorcycle drivers safe. The report finds that motorcycle fatalities are up 26 percent from 10 years ao, while other motor vehicle fatalities are down 28 percent. He says there have been more safety impvovements to other vehicles than motorcycles, including increased seat belt use, electronic stability controls and policies such as graduated driver licensing, which don’t impact motorcycles. He also says things would be safer if all states adopted universal helmet laws, requiring drivers of all ages to wear them.
