Paulding Says Goodbye to Fallen Service Member

The Paulding High School gymnasium was packed on Saturday as the community came together to remember one of their own. 26-year-old Petty Officer Second Class Randall Smith was one of the five service members who died following the July 16 shooting at a military recruiting center in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Reports of the incident call Smith a hero, saying his actions gave others time to seek cover from the gunfire. Smith was supposed to be off that day but showed up anyway. The ceremony included a motorcycle memorial ride through town and a presentation of the colors.
