IRS scam hitting this area

This scam has been reported around the Buck­eye state, and it’s hit here at home, too. Peo­ple who call your phone, claim­ing to be with the IRS. They threaten arrest or law­suits unless you agree to pay them and give your per­sonal credit card or debit infor­ma­tion. In Mont­pe­lier, Police Chief Dan McGee there’s been an increase in these calls. He says don’t be fright­ened by these peo­ple, sim­ply hang up. The IRS will never call you at home.
