This scam has been reported around the Buckeye state, and it’s hit here at home, too. People who call your phone, claiming to be with the IRS. They threaten arrest or lawsuits unless you agree to pay them and give your personal credit card or debit information. In Montpelier, Police Chief Dan McGee there’s been an increase in these calls. He says don’t be frightened by these people, simply hang up. The IRS will never call you at home.
