Allegations Against Beaver Deemed True

Allegations the Rev. Nelson Beaver sexually abused minors about a quarter century ago, are deemed substantiated after a review by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Toledo. They agree Beaver, who served as pastor at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Montpelier, from 1984 to 1994 is not suitable for the ministry. Beaver was placed on administrative leave in October 2018 after the allegations of sexual abuse of a minor dating back over 25 years surfaced. They were reported to county prosecutors in Williams, Huron and Lucas counties, where the alleged abuse took place.
