Bryan Board of Public Affairs approves request for service to the police department.

The Bryan Board of Public Affairs approves a request for service to the police department, and learned the cause of a small outage. Bryan Police Capt. Jamie Mendez made the request for free service that would allow two new traffic cameras to be installed on city electric poles and draw power from them to operate. He said the police department is adding a total of eight cameras, to go along with five approved in 2022 by the BPA. He added if someone drives into town who has a warrant out the system will also notify the authorities. Of the eight cameras, the provider would provide three poles. Two cameras would run on electricity while the remainder would be solar powered, officials add.
