Bryan city council approves several projects for the coming year.

The Bryan city council gives approval for the engineering department to move ahead with several projects for the coming year. Council approved the 2024 asphalt program for the city, which the City Engineer says is estimated at $583,000 dollars. He added that could be changed later if necessary before the bids are actually sought. Council also approved the 2024 pavement marking program, which officials estimate at $147,000 dollars, an increase from last year’s $123,000. A sanitary sewer replacement project on South Myers Street, south of East Wilson Street, was also approved to go out for bids. They say that project is estimated to cost $550,000 dollars in total, but about half of that will be paid from a grant that will be received in July. Because of that, the project will be bid out in June and awarded after the grant agreement is executed.
