BRYAN PASSES TOUGH DRUG LAW

Bryan now has a new drug law on the books, and city officials say they are planning to strictly enforce it in an effort to keep drugs out of the city.

On Monday, Bryan City Council approved an ordinance banning the manufacture, sale, distribution and possession of synthetic drugs and synthetic drug lookalike substances.

The new law becomes effective in three days. Violation of the ordinance will be a first degree misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $1,000 and 180 days in jail.
