Defiance man entered pleas to two attempted rape charges

A Defiance man entered pleas to two attempted rape charges and another offense in Defiance County Common Pleas Court. 28 year old Justin Hogue of Maumee Drive, pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted rape and gross sexual imposition. Judge Joseph Schmenk ordered a pre-sentence investigation and continued Hogue’s $1 million cash bond with a 10 percent allowance provision. Sentencing was scheduled for Jan. 4. The attempted rape charges each were amended from rape, a first-degree felony. A third count of rape, a first-degree felony, will be dismissed at sentencing. Hogue allegedly engaged in sexual activity with a child less than 10 years old between March 1 and June 19 at a Defiance residence.
