DIVERSIFIED MACHINE TO SHUT DOWN IN EDON

Pub­lished reports this morn­ing say that Diver­si­fied Machine in Edon is clos­ing it’s doors for good.

Accord­ing to the Bryan Times, employ­ees of the Edon plant were told that due to eco­nomic con­di­tions the com­pany is clos­ing the plant in Feb­ru­ary 2014. The first jobs elim­i­nated will be in July, and most oth­ers will be cut by the end of the year.

Accord­ing to the company’s web­site, Diver­si­fied Machine makes chas­sis and pow­er­train com­po­nants for the auto­mo­tive indus­try.

Diver­si­fied Machine acquired the plant from Met­al­dyne in 2009.
