Drug Bust In Defiance

A man from Detroit and a woman from Defi­ance were slammed behind bars fol­low­ing a brief pur­suit that hap­pened Thurs­day evening in Defi­ance.

It alls started when offi­cers exe­cuted a search war­rant at a Napoleon motel, in which the two were allegedly run­ning a drug busi­ness out of.

26 year old Damien Smith of Detroit was arrested on parole vio­la­tions and war­rants from Defi­ance Munic­i­pal Court.

29 year old Mer­cedes Mason-Smith of Defi­ance, was charged with pos­ses­sion of cocaine.

Both were locked up at the Cor­rec­tions Cen­ter of North­west Ohio, with bond for Mason-Smith set at $100,000 cash, and Damien Smith’s bond set at $25,000.

A large amount of cocaine was also seized dur­ing the search of the Napoleon Motor Inn, which Smith and Mason-Smith allegedly had been using as the site for their drug business.
