Flood waters on Wednesday, continued to recede, and the cleanup began in numerous areas where debris from flooding was left behind. Many people and officials are now assessing damage. Both Paulding and Henry counties declared disaster areas because of flooding. The National Weather Service says that more than eight inches of rain fell in Defiance during June. The weather service also says that strengthening El Nino systems mean we could be in for more wet periods until August. The weather service is predicting about a 50 percent chance of above average rainfall for July.
