Gordon Earns Statewide Honor

Montpelier Parks and Recreation director, Sandy Gordon is named Child Welfare Worker of the Year for Ohio by the American Legion in Columbus. Gordon was selected out of 656 nominations statewide. Officials say she was honored for her efforts in providing over 17,000 free summer lunches to underprivileged children in Montpelier over the past nine years. The award also recognizes the many programs Gordon has initiated and instructed throughout the years for the local community. Gordon says she was surprised and honored.
