Senator Cliff Hite of Findlay, has announced that the state will invest $150,000 to support industrial expansion in northwest Ohio. The $150,000 in funding will go to road projects in Hicksville that support the expansion of A&P Tool, Inc. The facility, near State Route 49, will add 14,000 square feet of manufacturing space at their existing site. The expansion is expected to create 25 new full-time jobs in Defiance County. According to Senator Hite, expansions such as the one at A&P Tool are behind Defiance County having lowered its unemployment rate from 14.5 percent to 5.7 percent in just the past five years. Roadwork Development Grants are awarded for public roadwork improvements that support the expansion or attraction of businesses. Eligible costs include widening, paving, road construction and reconstruction, and right-of-way infrastructure improvements such as sewer or utility lines.
