HENRY RAIL CROSSING UPGRADE SLATED

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio has approved improvements at a railroad crossing on Henry County E near Deshler that was the site of a fatal car-train crash.

48 year old Rebecca McCoy-Basore of Hamilton, Ohio, was killed last February when she failed to stop for a northbound CSX train.

The railroad crossing will now be upgraded with mast-mounted flashing lights and roadway gates by October.

Funding for the upgrade will be provided by federal funds. Additional improvements to the crossing will be funded by the State Grade Crossing Safety Fund.
