LIBERTY CENTER MEETS

The Lib­erty Cen­ter vil­lage coun­cil elected Terry Bow­ers as pres­i­dent for the new year. Com­mit­tee assign­ments were also made at last week’s orga­ni­za­tional meet­ing, with Bow­ers chair­ing the ceme­tery com­mit­tee. Brian Rogers will be the chair for the finance and zon­ing com­mit­tee. Roger Fisher is head of safety, and Den­nis Wit­ten­meyer will chair the eco­nomic devel­op­ment and parks com­mit­tee. Chris Schultz will be chair of the street com­mit­tee.

Lib­erty Cen­ter coun­cil passed the first read­ing on the appro­pri­a­tions for 2014; and they approved a 5-year finan­cial com­mit­ment to the Henry County Com­mu­nity Improve­ment Cor­po­ra­tion, at $1,000 per year.

At the first meet­ing of the year, Coun­cil also dis­cussed the make-up of the board that will over see the regional water plant; and about the need to pur­chase a small dump truck.
