We’re working to learn more about a man who was shot and killed on Thursday by a Williams County Sheriff’s Deputy who responded to a well-being check on U.S. 20 and found the man armed in a chair outside his residence. It appeared to officers to be a semi-automatic rifle, like an AR-15. Family members reportedly warned the Sheriff’s Office the man was “not right” and had a history of mental issues. The shooting is being investigated by multiple agencies. So far his name has not been released.
