Proposed legislation, that would have reversed a ban on medicinal marijuana facilities in Defiance, won’t be on city council’s agenda Tuesday, or even in the near future. Council had approved the ban by a 4-3 count in December, but with new members seated in January, Ward 3 Councilman Dave Plant wanted to revisit the matter. The result was a two hour discussion, in which council approved a motion, 4-3, to have legislation drawn up allowing a medicinal marijuana dispensary. Opponents cite a lack of a plan to put the facility in place, as well as the dangers of the drug as the main reasons to shelve the idea…for now.
