Murder sentence handed down in Steuben County Superior Court

The Steuben County Superior Court handed down a 50-year sentence to Cody Smith for the murder of his father, 51 year Rusty Smith. Rusty Smith died on March 9th, 2016 at his Lake Gage home after being shot in the head with a gun. Court reports indicate that son, 26 year old Cody Smith admitted to the murder and enters a plea deal that called for a maximum sentence of 55 years.
