OPEN HOUSE SET FOR BRYAN UTILITIES

Bryan Munic­i­pal Util­i­ties is cel­e­brat­ing Pub­lic Power Week, Oct. 6 — 12, along with more than 2,000 other community-owned elec­tric util­i­ties across the U.S. that pro­vide elec­tric­ity on a not-for-profit basis.

To cel­e­brate Pub­lic Power Week, Bryan Munic­i­pal Util­i­ties is invit­ing com­mu­nity mem­bers to attend an Open House at their Hydro­elec­tric Plant, Thurs­day, Octo­ber 10, from 1 to 7 p.m., located at 14268 Power Dam Road, just south of Defi­ance.

Vis­i­tors will be able to tour the hydro plant, learn how it gen­er­ates power, and watch demon­stra­tions of the flood­gates oper­at­ing. In addi­tion, BMU will give away sou­venir DVDs com­mem­o­rat­ing the plant’s cen­ten­nial. Refresh­ments will be pro­vided.
