Orland man pleads guilty in domestic case

An Orland man was given a two year sentence Monday following a domestic disturbance involving a weapon last March.

51-year-old Arthur Thomas Palus entered a guilty plea in Steuben Superior Court on October 5th to a level 6 felony of pointing a firearm as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors.

One year of the sentence was suspended by Judge William Fee and Palus was placed on probation for a year.

He was given credit for two days already served and a no contact order was entered on behalf of the victim.

In exchange for the guilty plea, a level five felony of intimidation was dismissed by prosecutors.

Steuben County Court documents stated that Palus threatened the woman with a loaded shotgun during the dispute.
