OVI Checkpoints Planned

The Ohio State High­way Patrol..in con­junc­tion with Defi­ance City Police and the Defi­ance County Sheriff’s Office announced this morn­ing that an OVI check­point will be held tonight from 9pm-2am on Clin­ton Street..near Ara­bella Avenue in the city of Defiance.The OVI checkpoint..funded by fed­eral grant funds…is planned to deter and inter­cept impaired drivers.The check­point will also be held in con­junc­tion with nearby sat­u­ra­tion patrols to aggres­sively com­bat alco­hol related injury and fatal crashes.
