The Health Department needs more money to operate, and Paulding County commissioners encouraged the department to seek an operating levy to help with budgetary issues.
Among the money issues, premiums for employees increased by 25% for next year, and revenue has not increased. Since the department has not had an increase, it has been forced to decrease staff because of rising costs.
The commissioners reminded the Health Department that tomorrow is the due date to have a levy on the spring ballot.
