Rate Hikes Mulled At BMU Cable

Bryan Municipal Utilities is poised to raise cable rates. BMU Communications Superintendent, Joe Ferrell told officials of the ever-rising costs of carrying broadcast stations, which BMU must carry based on industry rules, is the problem. Ferrell says those guidelines are crippling the industry. The proposal, expected to be voted on by the board in June, calls for a $4 monthly hike for both BMU’s basic and extended packages.
