A speeding SUV on an icy road crashes into a car in DeKalb County, sending a teenager to the hospital. DeKalb County deputies confirm the vehicle was on State Road 101, as it goes through the intersection at County Road 68 and an SUV slides past a stop sign into the intersection, hitting the driver’s side of the car. Officials say the SUV wasn’t able to stop due to a combination of speed and ice on the road. On impact, the SUV spins into a nearby ditch while the the car careens into a field. The 16-year-old driver of the car was taken to the hospital for her injuries. The 61-year-old driver of the SUV said she had pain in her hand but was not taken to the hospital. State and local officials are handling the post-crash investigation.
