An iconic candy store in Defiance is closing its doors. The Candy Cane Christmas Shoppe has been open for almost 20 years, but soon the doors will close for good. Owners Marvin and Sharon Lantz are retiring at the end of January. Marvin Lantz stated they are just looking for a change of pace and have decided to close the shop. Before buying the building located at U.S. 20A for the Christmas store the Lantzes owned and operated two collectible stores, one in Archbold and the other in Defiance. Marvin’s plans for retirement. He stated he has a whole shop of woodworking tools and that is where he plan on spending his days.
