Williams County Health Dept. helps children get ready for new school year.

The Williams County Health Department has been offering vaccine clinics since July that will continue through September as a way for parents to get their children prepared for the new school year. These required immunizations protect kids from diseases like diphtheria, polio, measles, mumps, chickenpox and Hepatitis B. Those entering seventh or 12th grade must receive a dose of the MCV4 vaccine to prevent meningococcal diseases like meningitis. Health department clinics are held on Tuesdays at the Montpelier office from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. and Thursdays at the Bryan office from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments are required. Back to school vaccinations can also be received at doctor’s offices and pharmacies.
