The natural gas pocket that was punctured on Wednesday dissipated on Friday and the road, U.S. 6 south of Stryker, was reopened to traffic on Friday. The Ohio of Transportation drilling crew hit a pocket of natural gas about 60 feet underground near Brush Creek. The natural vein vented and now crews are expected to fill the well casing with cement to block it off. No one was injured.
