Owners lose West Unity home of 41 years to fire

A Brady Township home was all but lost by fire. The homeowners, Roger and Penny Perez, were just turning in when Roger smelled smoke coming from their utility room. Firefighters got the fire out, but the smoke ruined their belongings, and they lost their pet dog to smoke inhalation. The fire is not suspicious, and the department is working to determine the exact cause. Penny Perez said they’d live in the house for 41 years.
