DEFIANCE MAN CHARGED IN DEATH OF INFANT

A five year old child is dead and now, a Defi­ance man has been arrested and charged with mur­der.

Defi­ance Police were called to Cor­win Street in Defi­ance just after 7 Fri­day night on a report of a child not breath­ing.

The five-month-old baby was taken to Defi­ance Regional Med­ical Cen­ter, then to Toledo Children’s Hos­pi­tal. The baby died Sun­day.

29 year old James Cooper was charged yes­ter­day with first-degree felony mur­der.

Cooper will appear Wednes­day morn­ing at 8:15 in Defi­ance Munic­i­pal Court.
