NAPOLEON SAYS NO TO TAX

Napoleon Area School District voters Tuesday turned down a 1/2 percent earned income tax by a 53% majority.

The district’s deficit spending in fiscal 2012 is projected to increase each year through fiscal year 2017.

That’s when projections call for the district to go broke.

The tax, had it been approved, would have covered operating expenses and officials say it would have generated a little over a million dollers per year for five years.
