NE Indiana Woman Critically Injured In Sunday Crash

A north­east Indi­ana woman was crit­i­cally injured in a crash early Sun­day in DeKalb County.

25 year old Han­nah Bercot was south­bound on DeKalb County Road 61 around 2am, when she drifted left of cen­ter and over cor­rected accord­ing to offi­cers, cross­ing back over the cen­ter line and off the west side of the road, hit­ting a util­ity pole.

The sheriff’s depart­ment said Bercot, who was not wear­ing a seat belt, suf­fered a skull frac­ture. She was flown to a Fort Wayne hos­pi­tal.

Police believe alco­hol and speed were fac­tors in the crash.
