Sauder Has Big Memorial Day Plans

Memo­r­ial Day week­end his­tor­i­cally marks the start of the sum­mer vaca­tion sea­son. A time-honored, fam­ily get-away in the Mid­west — Sauder Vil­lage is ready to wel­come guests of all ages to the his­toric vil­lage, restau­rant, camp­ground and inn for a mem­o­rable hol­i­day week­end!

Through­out the hol­i­day week­end there will be a vari­ety of cook­ing demon­stra­tions tak­ing place in the his­toric homes. While daily activ­i­ties will vary, some of the demon­stra­tions may include mak­ing Rhubarb Sauce, Potato Soup and home­made bread. Guests may also have an oppor­tu­nity to try mak­ing noo­dles, apple but­ter rolls, rolling out a pie crust, churn­ing but­ter and shelling dried beans.

His­toric Sauder Vil­lage will be open Sat­ur­day, Sun­day and Mon­day for the hol­i­day week­end. Hours are Sat­ur­day, May 24 from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Sun­day from noon-4:00 p.m. and Mon­day, May 26 from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. On Sun­day only, kids 16 and under receive free admis­sion. All Vet­er­ans will receive free admis­sion on Mon­day, May 26 for Memo­r­ial Day.

Sauder Vil­lage will also offer free admis­sion to all active duty mil­i­tary per­son­nel and their fam­i­lies from Memo­r­ial Day through Labor Day 2014.
