Settlement Announced In Steubenville Suit

A law­suit filed back in April of 2014 in Steuben Supe­rior Court against the Town of Fre­mont, its police depart­ment, two Fre­mont offi­cers and the Steuben County Sher­iffs Depart­ment has been set­tled out of court in a finan­cial set­tle­ment. The law­suit was filed by Lana Fan­ning and her son Alexan­der over the alleged actions of police who showed up in their home dur­ing the early morn­ing hours of Jan­u­ary 26th, 2014. Due to the agree­ment that was reached, jury tri­als that had been sched­uled for next week and for Octo­ber have now been cancelled.
